When deciding to embark on a journey of physical wellness and healthy living, the path can be treacherous at times. The internet is filled with an overabundance of tips and advice on how to obtain your goals. It can be hard to decide which advice to take. I have been dedicated to living a healthy lifestyle for over 5 years now and have listened to plenty of poor advice, which resulted in injuries and wanting to give up on health. I have always looked down on the word “diet”. In my opinion, diets do not work. One has to obtain the mindset of a change in the way of life. To simply indulge in junk food and then diet to get the weight off is not a healthy way of living. One has to constantly feed their body with proper nutrients.
An easy way to do this is by adding a supplement such as protein, which are the building blocks of muscle. I also make sure to consume bHIP Energy Drink, which will greatly help with recovery and soreness from performing exercise. So many times I have encountered people who tell me, “I spend about 3 to 4 hours in the gym everyday”. It is not about how much time you spend in the gym. I have always been told to train smarter, not harder. Doing that amount of training will lead to over-training and can cause some serious damage. Your body needs proper rest to heal. The only thing the gym is for is to rip the muscles. After they have been ripped, they need to heal so they can grow. A misconception that I run into a lot is “if I eat a lot less, I will lose weight”. Eating 5-6 small meals is ideal for a healthy life. Doing this keeps one’s metabolism up which is key to burning fat. If you starve yourself, your body will go into starvation mode and will burn muscle instead of fat. Working out in the gym is the easy part. Feeding your body with proper food and nutrients is where the challenge comes in. If you can remember some of the simple advice in this article, I promise, you’ll be happy with your new healthy lifestyle.
